Mr. Peel’s Class

 

 

1. We The People of the United States,

We The people, not the states, are forming this new country,

 

2. in Order to form a more perfect Union,

in order to make a better “country” than what we had under the Articles of Confederation,

 

3. establish Justice,

Set up rules of fairness,

 

4. insure domestic Tranquility,

make sure that we have peace at home,

 

5. provide for the common defense,

protect ourselves from other countries,

 

6. promote the general Welfare,

encourage the development of jobs and business,

 

7. and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity,

and make sure that we keep our freedoms for ourselves and those who come after us,

 

8. do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

officially authorize and set up this Plan of Government for the United States of America.
