Goals The students will concentrate on the following goals during the course of seventh grade. The source for a majority of this information is the Illinois State Board of Education website (http://www.isbe.net).
Read and understand literature representative of various societies, eras and ideas. Read with understanding and fluency. Apply word analysis and vocabulary skills to aid comprehension. Use reading strategies to improve comprehension. Understand a broad range of reading materials. Understand how literary elements contribute to meaning. Read and interpret a variety of materials. Analyze and evaluate information. Locate, organize, and use information from various sources. Create well-organized and coherent piece of writing for specific audiences and purposes. Use correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and capitalization. Listen and speak effectively in a variety of situations. Develop a love of learning and the language arts.

Your child’s success is my number one priority. An ID card is needed for library checkout and technology use. Students are asked to return library books promptly. Students may need to arrange time for computer use before or after school, especially because of absence.Parents are encouraged to regularly check assignment notebooks for upcoming and missing assignments |
